箴14:1 智慧婦人、建立家室.愚妄婦人、親手拆毀。
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
箴14:2 行動正直的、敬畏耶和華.行事乖僻的、卻藐視他。
He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
箴14:3 愚妄人口中驕傲、如杖責打己身.智慧人的嘴、必保守自己。
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
箴14:4 家裡無牛、槽頭乾淨.土產加多、乃憑牛力。
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
箴14:5 誠實見證人、不說謊話.假見證人、吐出謊言。
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
箴14:6 褻慢人尋智慧、卻尋不著.聰明人易得知識。
A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
箴14:7 到愚昧人面前、不見他嘴中有知識。
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
箴14:8 通達人的智慧、在乎明白己道.愚昧人的愚妄、乃是詭詐.〔或作自欺〕
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
箴14:9 愚妄人犯罪、以為戲耍.〔或作贖愆祭愚弄愚妄人〕正直人互相喜悅。
Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
箴14:10 心中的苦楚、自己知道.心裡的喜樂、外人無干。
The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
箴14:11 奸惡人的房屋必傾倒.正直人的帳棚必興盛。
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
箴14:12 有一條路人以為正.至終成為死亡之路。
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
箴14:13 人在喜笑中、心也憂愁.快樂至極、就生愁苦。
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.
箴14:14 心中背道的、必滿得自己的結果.善人必從自己的行為得以知足。
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
箴14:15 愚蒙人是話都信.通達人步步謹慎。
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
箴14:16 智慧人懼怕、就遠離惡事.愚妄人卻狂傲自恃。
A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
箴14:17 輕易發怒的、行事愚妄.設立詭計的、被人恨惡。
He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
箴14:18 愚蒙人得愚昧為產業.通達人得知識為冠冕。
The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
箴14:19 壞人俯伏在善人面前.惡人俯伏在義人門口。
The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
箴14:20 貧窮人連鄰舍也恨他.富足人朋友最多。
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
箴14:21 藐視鄰舍的、這人有罪.憐憫貧窮的、這人有福。
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
箴14:22 謀惡的豈非走入迷途麼.謀善的必得慈愛和誠實。
Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
箴14:23 諸般勤勞、都有益處.嘴上多言、乃致窮乏。
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
箴14:24 智慧人的財、為自己的冠冕.愚妄人的愚昧、終是愚昧。
The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
箴14:25 作真見證的、救人性命.吐出謊言的、施行詭詐。
A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.
箴14:26 敬畏耶和華的、大有倚靠.他的兒女、也有避難所。
In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
箴14:27 敬畏耶和華、就是生命的泉源、可以使人離開死亡的網羅。
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
箴14:28 帝王榮耀在乎民多.君王衰敗在乎民少。
In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
箴14:29 不輕易發怒的、大有聰明.性情暴躁的、大顯愚妄。
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
箴14:30 心中安靜、是肉體的生命.嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
箴14:31 欺壓貧寒的、是辱沒造他的主.憐憫窮乏的、乃是尊敬主。
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
箴14:32 惡人在所行的惡上、必被推倒.義人臨死、有所投靠。
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
箴14:33 智慧存在聰明人心中.愚昧人心裡所存的、顯而易見。
Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
箴14:34 公義使邦國高舉.罪惡是人民的羞辱。
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
箴14:35 智慧的臣子、蒙王恩惠.貽羞的僕人、遭其震怒。
The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
